Squiko System #1
A small-scale installation designed as the first iteration of both the concept and its components, Squeko System #1 questions the gendered nature of domestic space. Whose dream are we living in, and who dictates its elements—especially when reduced to the functional ideals of domesticity and space? Traditionally feminine-coded elements, such as potted plants and curated leisure, intertwine with the rigid, mechanical structures often associated with masculine control. The installation blurs the boundary between inside and outside, echoing the contradictions of suburban landscapes—where nature is tamed into flower beds and lawns, maintained as symbols of order rather than organic growth. In this constructed environment, domesticity becomes a negotiation of power, control, and aesthetics.
