Why and when is violence acceptable, and what happens when temporary permission becomes permanent? How are fun and impulse intertwined with violence? In moments of play, fun often emerges from the release of impulse, yet that same unrestrained energy can take darker turns. Is violence a byproduct of indulgence in instinct, or is it an outlet that we’ve normalized in the name of enjoyment? And can this tension between fun and harm be reined in, or is it a part of the impulse we cannot escape?
